Jocelyn is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Cleveland State University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Her experiences as a musician and music teacher have taught her the importance of good listening skills, patience, and creativity. As a counselor, Jocelyn has seen the power of the therapeutic relationship. She believes that therapy is a unique place in which healing happens through being validated and heard without judgment and unconditional positive regard. She is passionate about encouraging and equipping clients who struggle to cope with life stressors to make positive choices and feel empowered.
Her internship and work experiences include working with adults who were recovering from addictions to working with school aged children and teens. As a therapist she has helped individuals cope with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, grief, trauma, anger management, addictions and ADHD. Jocelyn’s approach to therapy is strength based. She uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Experiential Therapy interventions. Each session is unique to support clients as they take small steps to reach their therapy goals.
